Position Details:
The Collection Representative II position supports the department in the processing of Grainger's delinquent account receivables with an average portfolio size of more than $7M.
You will establish a close partnership with the Sales team to support our Core Value Proposition to help customers take cost out and increase future sales.
You will provide an understanding of the assigned customer orders to payment process with all internal partners.
You will report to Supervisor, Collections.
You will be required to travel to our Janesville, WI site on a quarterly basis in order to attend meetings.
You Will:
You will have daily customer contact regarding all collection activities for assigned corporate/government accounts following our credit policy and practices in a manner that will result in problem resolution
Promptly answer inbound phone inquiries.
Respond to customer requests for documentation quickly
Maintain, accurate and detailed customer contact notes following established standard repeatable processes.
Use professional collection skills and techniques to identify customer reasons for delinquent payments.
Communicate with Credit, Sales and Operations regarding specific situations and general collection issues.
Facilitate meetings with all business partners
Work with multiple internal business partners to resolve complex payment barriers
Work with A/R specialists and customer to resolve situations which cause un-reconciled checks.
Establish close communications with Sales partners that will both help manage DSO and grow sales.
You Have:
1 plus years of Collections experience
Advanced knowledge and working ability in SAP.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel including the ability required to create, manipulate professional spreadsheets.
Experienced using such tools as filters, pivot tables and Vlookup.
A solid command of English grammar
Good attendance and work ethics
Have a solid understanding of collections role while maintaining the customer's electronic processes
Experience planning to balance the customer needs, emails, account collections activities and meetings
