*Job Summary:*
The accountant will provide a variety of accounting services to our clients, including creating monthly financial statements, preparing tax returns, completing audits, and other related financial activities.
*Duties/Responsibilities:*
* Prepare corporate, partnership, trust/estate, nonprofit, and personal income tax returns.
* Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code.
* Process state and federal payroll taxes.
* Develop audit objectives, plans, and scope by reviewing available information and conducting research.
* Prepare audit findings, write audit reports, and develop recommendations.
* Stay current on industry trends, and best accounting and audit practices.
* Ensure accuracy of financial information.
* Follow up on audit recommendations.
* Travel to client sites for fieldwork and business consultation.
* Always stay current with all state and federal regulations.
* Maintain constant communication with the IRS, State Agencies, and our clients.
* Keep highly organized and updated client files.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
*Skills/Abilities:*
* Strong understanding of accounting pronouncements, income tax laws, regulations, and internal controls.
* Sound understanding of audit and tax theories, principles, and practices.
* Familiarity with general accounting practices and techniques.
* Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking skills, and time management skills.
* Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
* Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, as well as working independently.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Highly proficient with accounting software.
*Education and Experience:*
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
CPA preferred.
Studying for CPA is considered.
* One to seven years’ experience in financial accounting, auditing, or a combination thereof, preferably in public accounting.
We will consider recent graduates.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.
00 - $75,000.
