St.
John Vianney Catholic School is seeking After School Care Staff for the 2023/2024 school year.
St.
John Vianney Catholic School serves approximately 260 students in grades 3K-8th grade.
The ECC (Extended Care Community) Staff ensures the school's after school care program is an extension of our school's Catholic identity, academic program, and sense of community.
This program serves students in grades K-8, and on a typical day ranges in attendees from 18-26 students.
In addition to the qualifications listed below, candidates should demonstrate leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability and flexibility, initiative, and creativity.
After School Care is provided each school day with the exception of the last day of school.
The arrival time is typically at 2:30 p.
m.
and concludes at 5:30 p.
m.
On the school's two scheduled early release days, the staff's day begins at 10:45 and concludes at 5:30 p.
m.
Job Summary Responsible for supervision, homework assistance, interactive play, and implementation of the Director's established routines for the school’s Extended Care Program.
Essential Job Functions * Serve as a lead in our after-school care program; log hours, communicate behaviors, plan small group activities, and purchase healthy snacks with the school's cards for area grocers.
* Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school and acts as a role model in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church * Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and the Diocese of Madison, including the SJV Personel Handbook * Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters * Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals * Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits* * Maintaining a stimulating and varied schedule of activities appropriate for the students in a well-ordered environment * Positive interaction with parents * Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal or Coordinator Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form * Able to work well with others in a school community * Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously * Skill in job appropriate technology * Skill in critical thinking and planning * Skill in motivating and engaging students in the learning process * Skill in organizing and relating information in an understandable format Mental/Physical Demands * Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger * Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, and interact with students daily * Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and winter weather * Credit hours in education preferred, experience in childcare OR * Such alternatives to the above as the Principal may find appropriate and acceptable.
