Position Summary:
The position of ESL Teacher, Beloit Sky Carp, under the direction of the Manager of Education & Player Care, shall be responsible for working with a small group of Miami Marlins minor league baseball players on their English skills.
Essential Functions:
Serve as ESL teacher for international students.
Meet with students for English classes at Beloit Sky Carp Stadium when the team is at home, approximately 2-3 times a week.
Lead engaging virtual English classes when the team is on the road, approximately 1-2 times per week.
Plan and submit lesson plans on a weekly basis.
Effectively use research-based strategies for second language acquisition and effective classroom management.
Continually identify needs of students and allow that to guide instructional practices.
Submit student evaluations, as requested.
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Communicate and collaborate with Manager of Education & Player Care on a consistent basis.
Qualifications & Requirements:
The candidate must be based in Beloit, Wisconsin or nearby area.
The candidate must be available to work from April 1st, 2024 – September 15th, 2024.
Bilingualism is required.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines
Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field.
Certification in teaching & ESL is a plus.
Candidate should have teaching experience.
Experience working with young adults or athletes is preferred.
