Overview: All duties as a Transporter 1, 2, and Team Lead: Transport supplies to/from all Mercy locations on a timely and safe basis.
Supplies include, but are not limited to linen carts, inter-office mail, dietary coolers and supplies, x-rays, mail, toner cartridges, pharmacy totes, refrigerated supplies, lab specimens, payroll, and billing envelopes.
May also include deposit and change bags to/from specific Mercy banks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position may be required to work weekends, nights and holidays.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Must follow detailed route instructions and schedules, keep detailed logs, secure keys and key cards at all times, and be aware and report all vehicle issues.
Will be required to be trained on every courier run, train and retrain drivers as needed.
Oversee day to day operations.
Responsible for the supervision of all staff which includes, scheduling, payroll approval, hiring, corrective action, and annual evaluations.
Schedule drivers, review daily logs, approve rewriting of procedures as needed.
Periodically go on runs to review driver, route, and procedures.
Oversee vehicle maintenance.
Insures hospital cage and distribution racks are up to date.
Contact all Mercy locations on a regular basis for changes and suggestions.
Responsible for maintaining credit card charges and maintain budget.
Assists Materials Management Manager and Director with annual budget.

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification and Licensure For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.
100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
