Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leads in a professional manner and conducts self as a role model, observing the Mercy Health System Culture of Excellence.
Performs all the functions of a partner retail dispensing optician, see dispensing optician job summary.
Provide support to the Receptionists, Dispensing Opticians and Physicians at all Mercy Optical department locations with a strong understanding/background of product, pre-testing, contact lens and insurance knowledge.
Provides staff development and education in the area of retail Optometry/Optical meeting our education goal per partner.
Will give input at partner evaluation time.
Participates in formulating retail Optometry/Optical policies and procedures.
Evaluate new products and participate in the pricing of materials.
Responsible for the scheduling of partners, maintaining Kronos, Nursing Audits, Collecting Data for Performance Improvement Plans and various other reports.
Is aware and involved in the planning and promoting of public relations.
Orders office supplies for all Mercy Optical department locations
Approves invoices in a timely fashion for processing.
Trains new staff in each position at all Mercy Optical department locations
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent
3 year optical dispensary experience
Certification/Licensure:
ABO certification to be obtained within one (1) year of hire
