Elizabeth Nursing Home, an Illuminus Community, is seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to join our team as an Activities Director.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the planning, organizing, and implementation of activities for our residents in a nursing home setting.
This is a full-time benefited position including health, dental, vision, retirement and paid time off.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a wide range of activities that cater to the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of our residents
- Work with the nursing staff to ensure that activities are appropriate and safe for all residents
- Supervise and train staff members and volunteers assisting with activities to ensure that they are providing the best possible care and support to our residents
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and adjust programs as needed to ensure compliance with regulations and resident desires
- Will assure that all assessment, MDS and care plan requirements are met in a timely manner remaining HIPPA complaint.
- Manage the budget for activities and ensure that resources are used efficiently
- Coordinate with community organizations and volunteers to enhance the resident experience
- Coordinate and run Resident Council meetings, including documenting minutes from the meeting
- Participate in trainings and meetings as requested
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, recreational therapy, gerontology, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working to support senior care needs.
Experience in a nursing home preferred.
- Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or registered/certified activities professional
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and family members
- Understanding of the physical, social, and emotional needs of older adults
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to nursing home activities programming
- Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information
