Reimagine What’s Possible Role and Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Generated Gas Supervisor for the Portage, WI facilities which produces gaseous oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen.
The Site Supervisor will support all aspects of the day-to-day plant operations.
This will include customer interface, business interface, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance budgeting, as well as employee training.
This role will require the successful candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site’s operation, distribution, and maintenance activities, with specific areas of focus on leadership.
Effective communication skills and strong organizational skills are essential.
The successful candidate will learn the operation of the Milton CO2 plant and assist with plant operations when needed.
Required Skills / Abilities: Management of the site’s Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company’s efforts to drive to a goal of zero injuries.
Ensuring environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operations to include troubleshooting plant process problems, supervising daily plant activities, and managing plant projects.
Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
Implementing and sharing best practices.
Investigating incidents and near misses which includes understanding and correcting the root cause of failures.
Education and Licensing Requirements: High School Diploma/GED required.
5+ years of relevant operations/maintenance experience in an industrial plant is preferred.
A degree in engineering or a technical field is a plus but not required.
Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
A self-starter with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to develop talent.
