Lyons Magnus is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor (Day Shift) for its Beloit facility.
This is a Tuesday-Friday position from 6:00am-6:30pm.
This position will be taken down on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for achieving the Company’s goals that include uncompromised food and human safety, OEE, and schedule attainment, MRO and labor expenses, shop organization, developing work schedules through written work orders for assigned personnel actively utilizing CMMS program to maintain equipment in peak condition at all times, management of an emergency work order program, quality of products, and the ongoing administration to optimize Maintenance operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains the entire work areas in a neat, safe, and orderly fashion at all times using Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Complies with all Company and Plant policies and procedures including conformance to the facilities’ cGMP program (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Ensures all OSHA guidelines are followed always and addresses any unsafe conditions immediately.
Validates the use of the Plants’ lock-out/tag-out and other safety procedures are followed at all times.
Ensures work orders are assigned and completed with follow-up to ensure the quality of workmanship.
Interacts with internal customers to ensure they are satisfied with repairs.
Maintain SOP’s to keep the facility ready for customs inspections as well as governmental inspections (USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA, Etc.
) Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in a high-tech manufacturing environment Schedules assigned employees with work orders to be completed daily in addition to tending to emergency work as they arise while minimizing the use of overtime.
Review reports ensuring they are accurate and mechanics time is accounted for.
Manages the required set-up and changeovers using checklists and fixtures to standardize all work, modifying fixtures as needed to optimize results.
Develops, maintains, and posts visual key performance indicators (KPI’s) to provide ongoing feedback regarding productivity, quality, safety and sanitation, and housekeeping.
Conducts daily “tailgate meetings” for employees covering prior days’ performance and current days’ requirements.
All paperwork required is filled out, maintained, and entered into CMMS, RedZone, and/or ERP systems as required.
Work order and PM completion rates are to obtain 90% ongoing completion rate assuring thorough and quality repairs Review of previous work orders and tasks as they apply to daily, weekly, and monthly plant schedules.
Supports various corporate initiatives to include Lean Manufacturing amongst others.
Manages direct reports providing timely feedback on goals and objectives.
Maintains and develops a motivated well-trained staff.
Addressed both positive and negative performance and behaviors as needed.
Provides well-thought-out ideas to ongoing issues to ensure asset reliability, food safety, quality, cost reduction, turnover, etc.
, and takes actions without being asked for continuous improvement.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to speak, read, and write in English as a first or second language to properly follow quality standards, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and detailed operating manuals.
Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
Adherence to safety, GMP, and efficiency standards Excellent communication skills Must have solid math skills with the ability to interpret results.
Sound mechanical aptitude to “see” issues causing quality or throughput issues.
Skilled at dismantling, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
Knowledge of operating hand and power tools.
Knowledge of basic electrical, PLC, and HMI required.
The position must have a keen attention to detail, ensuring all quality standards are met at all time to maintain assets and facility in a condition that is consistent with a food manufacturing facility and rivals World-Class operations.
Excellent problem-solving skills Able to plan, organize and schedule machinery and personnel to scheduled requirements The stamina to keep pace with a brisk work environment understanding that each minute of downtime results in increased costs and lost business.
Education and/or Experience A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Degree in ME, EE, or equivalent experience is preferred.
