*Overview* The Shipping Department Supervisor is responsible for supervising the shipping department employees driving for results and excellence in accordance with company standards and goals.
The Supervisor assists the Warehouse Manager providing direction to complete all shipping department assignments with a hands-on approach.
*Essential Functions* * Coordinates the flow of shipping trucks for all domestic orders with emphasis on special and expedited orders * Supervises all Parts Canada truck orders exceeding 100 pounds * Oversees that all administrative duties are timely fulfilled * Manages intercompany shipments; communicates and directs the flow of product coming from the receiving department * Ensures orders are shipped in the expected timeframes, monitors unshipped reports, ensures dealers are contacted, and manages follow-up procedures * Prioritizes, delegates, and monitors the work assignments of workers in the shipping department being conscious of order volume flow * Directs staff to adjoining departments to assist as necessary * Provides training and coaching to new and existing employees, promoting cross-training to fill in roles as necessary * Elaborates performance evaluations for direct reports * Ensures compliance with employee work schedules including use of overtime hours * Adheres and ensures adherence of direct reports to all safety rules and regulations * Encourages and promotes by example a positive and harmonious work environment.
* Maintains orderly housekeeping of all assigned areas * Interacts and cooperates with other leads and departments as needed * Other duties as needed *Non-Essential Functions* * Provides coverage for other leads when necessary * Makes recommendations for l manning levels *Required Qualifications and Education* * 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory position in a warehouse or manufacturing environment * Strong communication skills * Strong time management skills * Power sports industry knowledge is a plus *Physical Demands* Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Employees are encouraged to use good judgment with heavy or bulky packages.
Warehouse rules require employees to seek help with heavy or bulky packages exceeding 35 lbs.
