Reports To: Director of Supply Chain
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for all sourcing/purchasing functionality within the organization at both UA sites.
A key stakeholder in the business, this role actively seeks to constantly streamline sourcing/purchasing processes while maintaining a high degree of transparency while effectively decreasing total expenditures.
A deep understanding of company operations and needs are critical for success in this role.
The Raw Material Program Planner and Buyer will report directly to this individual.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate and implement efficient sourcing practices and spending strategies
Develop and implement procurement policies to ensure transparency of spending
Identify, qualify and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers
Present strategies for improved cross collaboration between internal stakeholders
Responsible for purchasing functions including negotiations and contract management
Minimize risk to organization by providing solid recommendations on market trends and industry forecasts
Collaborate with Estimating and Design to ensure timely response on RFQs
Partner with Quality Team to vet and measure new potential vendors
Responsible for supplier relationships and performance
Source new materials for new customer projects
Implement and manage cost reduction efforts with suppliers
Manage all purchasing staff and processes
Flexibility in working hours which may include off shifts and weekends
Ability to travel as required and/or requested
Any and all duties as assigned or required
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS in Business or related field
CSP, CSCP or CPP preferred
8+ years of sourcing/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
Detail oriented, with exceptional organizational skills
Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
Demonstrated ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service skills building effective cross-function partnerships
Must be able to navigate in a windows-based computer environment
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
