is a Long-Haul, Trailer Space Sharing (TSS), open-deck trucking company (based in Janesville, WI with another consolidation yard in Los Angeles CA).
Kaiser's matching fleet of 2020 or newer 389 Peterbilts, pulling Reitnouer Step-Deck and Double Drop trailers is operated by the most professional Company driver core in the nation.
Job Summary Manages the Fleet life cycle in alignment with Company objectives.
Span of Control: 120+ assets, 7 direct reports, and 30+ vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform and lead each essential duty.
Other duties may be assigned.
Help create and manage department budgets through cost controls
Measure and manage fleet uptime through cross department communication and interaction
Coordinate with drivers on scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs
Create and manage nightly workflow
Manage over the road breakdown calls
Responsible for the fleet maintenance software system
Control vendor relations around parts, warranties, and policies
Supervisory Responsibilities The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of employees.
This includes:
Direct supervision of up to 7 full-time employees
Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance

Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Valid driver's license required
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Computer skills around fleet maintenance software
Understanding of numbers around cost per mile and cost per hours
Must have strong purchasing, negotiating, and overall communication skills

The Fleet Maintenance Manager position is an exempt salary plus discretionary performance pay position that works up to 50 hours a week or more depending on the business need.
This is currently a 2nd shift position.
Weekend hours based on business need.
