Branch Manager

Senior Leader: Chief Operating Officer
Float Branch Manager: Manages branches while covering for Branch Manager absences.
Job Overview The Branch Manager oversees all aspects of the daily operations of the branch, deepening and acquiring member relationships and ensuring member service expectations are consistently exceeded.
Provides strong branch leadership that achieves branch growth, member satisfaction and creates an environment that promotes financial discipline through managing and developing the human, financial, and operational resources.
Projects a professional image and is actively involved in local community partnerships.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Leads a motivated branch team that provides exceptional service, makes sound decisions, and achieves member satisfaction through coaching, role-modeling, and holding staff accountable.
Effectively delegates daily branch tasks to the Leads.
Maintains proper staff coverage to ensure efficient branch operations.
Approves and schedules paid time off.
Participates in the recruitment process for new employees at the branch in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
Ensures branch staff are properly trained to meet member service needs and branch goals.
Works with Branch Leadership to set annual and monthly goals for service and production.
Monitors and measure key performance indicators and implements steps to address any shortfalls.
Manages and maximizes performance levels of staff members through schedules, distribution of work and coaching.
Demonstrates cooperative efforts in working with other departments and within own branch while encouraging similar behavior from staff.
Coordinates advertising and promotional requests with marketing.
Utilizes expert knowledge to take applications for memberships and consumer loans.
Opens shares and closes loans following established underwriting criteria and lending policies and procedures.
Educates members to use our products to improve their financial well-being and provides any ongoing correspondence.
Accurately and efficiently prepares member documents.
Takes responsibility for overall branch functionality and appearance, including safety and security.
Works with Facilities Department to ensure safety and security at the branch, as needed.
Actively attends meetings and training sessions to remain up to date and maintain knowledge of policies, regulations, procedures, products, and legal requirements, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies and regulations.
Follows processes and procedures established to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Completes required, annual BSA training to ensure comprehension of Branch Manager responsibilities that apply to BSA, including: CIP (Customer Identification Program) CDD (Customer Due Diligence) Beneficial Owner Identification and Verification Prohibited Account Types CTRs (Currency Transaction Report) SARs (Suspicious Activity Report) OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) Monetary Instruments Record Retention Responsible for managing and supporting Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Member Effort Score (MES) initiatives throughout the branch.
Responsible for networking within communities to grow and attract new business.
Builds and maintains working relationships to increase visibility and volunteer opportunities.
Makes decisions and follows policies and procedures for the safe keeping of credit union personnel, assets, and facilities.
Educates members on how to use products and services to improve their financial well-being and communicates clearly.
Accurately and efficiently prepares member documents.
Demonstrates a work style that is consistent with BHCCU’s values and takes personal responsibility for own learning and development to support those values and the branch’s success.
Promotes member growth with current and potential select employee groups, schools, and communities in collaboration with the department objectives.
Prepares an annual branch budget that is consistent with overall corporate goals and monitors expenditures.
Manages the branch donation budget and ensures funds are used suitably to support community initiatives.
Maintains up to date knowledge and adheres to all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards that pertain to this position.
Performs other duties as assigned, including filling in for any branch position.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or an equivalent level of knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through work experience.
Minimum of four years of previous experience working in a branch.
Prior experience as a lead (vault) teller, member advisor (personal banker), and/or manager.
COMPETENCIES Ability to multitask, delegate, set deadlines, and prioritize.
Previous experience leading a team and delegating daily work.
Previous experience improving procedures and standards.
Pass the pre-employment screening and background check.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment.
Must possess well-developed skills in verbal and written communication.
Role model of positive personal projection as demonstrated by professional appearance and attitude.
Comfortable working in a complex, competitive, and rapidly changing environment.
Ability to analyze and resolve situations independently.
OTHER (PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL SKILLS) Physical Job Requirements Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
Ability to move about and communicate with a diverse membership and employee group.
Ability to accomplish the described responsibilities using computers and technology.
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in a changing, challenging, and fast paced work environment.
Variable stress levels.
Provides own transportation.
Occasional business travel.
