Position: Welder
Status: Fulltime
Responsibilities and Duties:
Reads and comprehends blueprints.
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding from blueprints.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds part to secure in position for welding.
Sets up equipment and welds parts, GMAW MIG.
Fabricate and design non-engineered parts.
Qualification and Skills:
One year certificate from college or technical school in welding/fabrication or relevant experience.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
without assistance.
Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
Ability to work arms above the head and ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions as detailed in blueprints.
Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
Proficient in adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Proficient in the computation of rate, ratio, and percent and its application in practical situations.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
