Lyons Magnus is seeking 3rd shift Lab Technicians for its Beloit, WI Facility.
This position is 10:00pm-6:30am on a daily schedule.
Weekends on a rotating basis.
Job Summary
Ensure exceeding customer expectations for quality, safety, and wholesomeness through an operational and analytical focus, attention to detail, defect detection, and corrective/preventative action, and strong internal partnerships with the production department.
Essential duties
Gather, prepare, and analyze in-process, incoming, and finished products for analytical and microbiological components as required
Submit samples to customers and outside testing labs as required.
Generate COA’s based on lab results.
Perform plant-wide quality audits & inspections to ensure all employees are complying with good manufacturing, safety, food safety, and quality assurance practices.
Ensure alignment of plant procedures with quality policies and SQF elements.
Support the maintenance of SQF Certification.
Assists with the training of associates and partners as needed.
Verify the sanitary condition of production lines prior to start-up and after downtime requiring maintenance activity.
Verify compliance with label stated weights and associated regulations for all products.
Calibrate and troubleshoot lab equipment.
Clean up and housekeeping of assigned work area daily.
Contribute to team effort by performing other duties and assignments as requested
Requirements:
Physical Demand
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hairnet, earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, and uniform)
Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting to 55 lbs.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

High School Diploma or equivalent.
A.
S.
or equivalent in Food Science or a related field preferred.
Some experience in the food production industry or in a related quality or laboratory field preferred.
Basic math skills
Basic computer skills, including the ability to create and use Word and Excel documents.
Must be collaborative and a team player.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
Must be able to distinguish with a degree of accuracy taste/smell.
