WarHeads® are one of the most recognized (and tastiest!) sour candies in the world and the fastest growing brand in the market! *SUMMARY* The *Maintenance Manager’s* primary role is to plan, direct and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities to ensure the Company’s buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment operate reliably and efficiently.
Additionally, this role manages and directs capital improvement projects such as equipment upgrades and new installations.
The person in this role takes ownership of and exercises diligent oversight of the maintenance function and reports metrics and KPI’s as required.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* * Assures the safe execution of all maintenance and utility activities while driving the Maintenance function and department to meet regulatory guidelines such as OSHA, SQF and GMP.
* Responsible for plant maintenance including facilities, utilities, and operations to reduce downtime, drive operational efficiencies and help assure peak plant performance.
* Partners or directs capital projects such as equipment installations, upgrades, and major facility shutdown events, including scheduling and working with appropriate outside vendors.
* Manages and oversees department expenditures to ensure cost-effective purchasing practices are established and adhered to.
* Optimizes the efficient and safe operation of production assets through appropriate predictive and preventative maintenance and safe and effective execution of corrective maintenance and projects.
* Coordinates major maintenance and project requirements with internal stakeholders to include downtime activities and downtime periods.
* Trains/mentors maintenance staff on effective maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving tools to heighten department capabilities and increase production efficiencies.
* Sets and evaluates departmental goals and objectives and motivates/leads team towards achievement.
* Identifies and ensures critical parts availability to minimize equipment downtime while balancing economic maintenance inventory management.
* Helps ensure everyone’s safety through the aggressive completion of safety related work orders and enforcement of factory safety regulations such as lock out/tag out.
* Manages and evaluates the Maintenance staff including performance management, employee improvement and employee development.
*QUALIFICATIONS * * Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
* 5 - 8 plus years of industrial maintenance experience- food industry experience preferred.
* Five plus years supervisory and managerial experience.
* Working knowledge of OSHA, SQF and GMP requirements for food processing facilities.
* Strong leadership and communication skills required, coupled with an orientation towards continuous improvement.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to use these to coach/develop department capabilities.
* Excellent planning and organizing skills with the ability to effectively manage projects.
* Automation/Instrumentation/Controls knowledge and experience a plus.
* *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* * 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift Maintenance team members.
*COMPUTER SKILLS* Performs basic database updates, queries and searches, and printing of documents/reports.
Knowledge of MMS programs.
*LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to communicate with co-workers and/or read instructions or written standards for production in English.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Ability to perform or learn basic mathematic skills as needed, such as basic accounting terminology.
*REASONING ABILITY* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or limited variables.
