Job Description: Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Weld Engineer’s primary function will be to support welding functions and weld engineering personnel across all locations.
The Weld Engineer will perform duties including the creation and support of weld quality documentation, support and improvement of process equipment / technology, and continuous improvement of welded connection design.
The Weld Engineer will work to ensure that the products shipped meet the expectations of the customer and are delivered right the first time including any of the associated identification and documentation requirements.
Duties will also include efforts to maximize weld productivity utilizing various weld processes and equipment.

Participate in the creation of welding procedures and welding techniques standardizing welding to specifications.
Participates in the selection of new welding equipment in conjunction with the weld council and participates in welding equipment calibration and preventative maintenance activities Provide support as a CWI as required to verify, validate and approve welding Weld training specifications Weld equipment specifications Participates in the welding audit process to verify that the welding procedures are as specified and are qualified, and that welding is performed as required to the applicable procedure.
Provide guidance to local Weld Engineering teams to identify welders who need specific training or upskilling.
Evaluates new developments in the industry for possible application to processes.
Work independently with little supervision while still delivering excellent results on time Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Weld Engineering, Weld Technology, or Materials joining degree preferred.
Must have or be able to obtain American Welding Society (AWS) CWI Experienced in stainless, aluminum and mild structural steel welding with a solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes and explicit knowledge of our welding, principles/ practices/equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management Detail oriented, with exceptional problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills Proficient at working well under pressure, multitasking and prioritizing Must be able to navigate in a Windows based computer environment Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Willingness to work flexible hours with a changing work schedule as needed to support production 12 Expected Behaviors of Actively Engaged Person – 100% Responsible, Trustworthy, Team Player, Clear Communicator, Empathy, Humility, Emotional Self-Control, Resolves Conflict Directly, Positive Attitude, Respects Others, Problem Solver, and Agile.
