POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates mechanical & utility design and construction of factories used in the production of wet and dry pet food, and pet treats.
Technical expertise to include project scope development and management of design consultants & contractors to ensure that Nestlé Purinas standards and expectations are met from inception to installation of a project.
*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:* • Job requires a broad knowledge of mechanical utility systems, technology, equipment, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) generation and review infield.
• Be engaged with corporate engineering team to understand project team structure, scopes, design, and coordination reviews.
• Provide Mechanical Engineering review and management of onsite mechanical/utility construction for capital projects.
• Oversee field observations and equipment & utility commissioning by 3rd party services during construction to ensure built per design and Nestle Purina standards.
• Review and approve contractor means and methods for construction at factories in operation • Review and evaluate feasibility and cost estimates by contractors for existing and new factory sites and buildings • Position requires to be onsite at factory location for duration of project.
Some travel to St.
Louis for training and design coordination will be required.
*BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):* *Education:* • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering • Licensed Professional Engineer, highly recommended *Experience (Years/Type):* • 5 Years minimum experience in mechanical/utility design including HVACR, liquid handling systems (tanks, pumps, piping), heat transfer systems, steam systems, chill water systems, natural gas systems, and industrial waste systems.
• Food & Beverage, CPG or industrial manufacturing capex project experience (MUST HAVE: construction, startup and commissioning experience).
• Experience with generating, reviewing, and field tracing P&IDs.
• Field experience reviewing construction progress, starting up mechanical equipment, commissioning systems and coordinating field work with teammates • Experience working in a multi-discipline team to deliver industrial capital projects • Experience with projects requiring hygienic food and industrial manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience reviewing 2D drawings and 3D Models.
-Worker might be asked to cover 2nd shift as well from time to time as needed -Some travel might be required to St.
Louis for onboarding and meetings -Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
Requires daily walking through a construction site.
Food & Beverage, CPG or industrial manufacturing capex project experience (MUST HAVE: construction, startup and commissioning experience).
*Skills:* • Process flow development • Experience with P&ID development, equipment sizing, and specifications.
• Equipment submittal review • Construction document review and markup.
• Ability to multi-task across several projects at a time.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical subject matter.
• Ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.
• Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, BIM 360, Procore • Steel toe shoes are required and to be provided at own expense.
Other safety gear will be provided by the facility.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $70.
