Custom Service Plastics is an injection molding business with contracts in agricultural and automotive sectors.
We are positioned for our next stage of growth and are looking for talent to help us achieve that goal.
You will be responsible for maintaining consistent molding processes across our two physical locations across town from each other in beautiful Lake Geneva, WI.
Our 20+ hydraulic presses range from 120 through 1500 tons, with a mix of digital and manual control surfaces.
The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple styles of molding machines and the wherewithal to troubleshoot basic issues while working independently.
Process Technicians at our company are responsible for communication with our Engineering Department and Lead Process Engineer to ensure that established processes are maintained and that new processes are consistent and reliable.
Maintaining process parameters within approved ranges, and proper documentation of process changes will be an important factor in this role.
As our new 2nd shift Process Technician, you will be able to understand and work within a prioritized production environment to support our production needs.
Communication within the command and support structure and the leadership skills to assume the accountability and responsibility inherent involved, with an eye toward safety, efficiency and strategic planning.
Operations Level 2
Follow and develop efficient processes for molds; Assist engineering with automation for molding machines; Prioritize to enhance strategic alignment
Education
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Formal training or certificate in plastic processing
· 5+ years’ experience preferred
What you need to be able to do
• Basic to intermediate computer skills and Microsoft office applications
• Experience with troubleshooting plastic injection molding machines and molds
• Able to identify and explain functions of a molding machine, HMI screens, material loading systems, and hot runner temperature controllers
• Practical mechanical experience with various generations of molding presses
• Ensure safe work habits and demonstrate proper mold safety
• Read and understand a control plan and translate into viable consistent processes
What we expect of you
• Able to utilize and identify safety points of a molding machine (e stops, electrical cabinet, hoses)
• Follow process control records for molded parts, update process books when changes are made following proper documentation procedure
• Work independently within a priority schedule
• Partner with additional departments to resolve problems.
• Clean and safety forward work areas
• Good document practice GDP
Possible Responsibilities / Next steps to move onward
• Utilize automation with molding machines
• Assist engineering with end of arm tooling design
• Working with the Lead Process Engineer to create new processes and improve scrap rates and dial in cycle times
• Make recommendations for mold repairs
• Assist Production Manager with additional responsibilities
