Summerset Marine Construction is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of our marine construction projects.
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are in optimal working condition to support the efficient and safe execution of projects.
This position requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties.
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, machinery, and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and address them in a timely manner.
* Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to schedule maintenance activities in a way that minimizes disruption to operations.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment maintenance history.
* Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and consumables and ensure that adequate supplies are available to support maintenance operations.
* Troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues and coordinate repairs with internal maintenance staff or external service providers as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies in the execution of maintenance activities.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in maintenance operations and implement appropriate measures.
* Provide regular reports on maintenance activities, including key performance indicators such as equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and safety incidents.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
* Proven experience in maintenance supervision.
* Strong technical knowledge of marine construction equipment and machinery, including cranes, dredges, barges, and hydraulic systems.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot equipment issues.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to maintenance activities in a marine construction setting.
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
* Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to project sites as needed.
